To kill a mockingbird seminar
We had a socratic seminar about the book To Kill a Mockingbird. I will talk about the things that we did well in the seminar and I will talk about some of the things that we could have done better. We this seminar we talked about a lot of things, some of the things that I thought were the most interesting were when we brought up weather this book should be banned at high schools around the country and when Stephen asked if it was good for a group of white kids to talk about racism.
I think that this seminar went ok, we had a lot of good moments. I think that the best moment was when we started to talk about biases and how they affect the way that we read and portrey the book. When we were talking about this everyone was in a good flow, it felt like everyone had something to say and people had some really interesting things to say. The most interesting thing that someone said was Khian, he said that if you look at any countries history book you will see that they all want to say that they are the best country and they didn't do anything wrong.
Even though we had a lot of good parts to the seminar we also a lot of room to improve. The biggest thing that we could have improved on was staying on topic. We had a lot of times where we would talk about some things that had nothing to do with the Book. We would also be in a good part of our seminar with a good slow and some people would make some jokes and it took away from the seminar.
Overall I thought that this seminar went okey we could have done better. We had a lot of good things to say, but some people lacked in the way that they needed to act. I've done a couple of seminars at Mountain Middle School, But this was a lot better than the ones at Mountain. We have a lot more freedom here and I can't wait for the next one.
